SIMAC Water Tank Part of the Digital Twin product family

Full beam characterization from routine QA. No tank, no recommissioning.

SIMAC Water Tank replaces extensive physical water-tank measurements with an easily updated virtual tank that predicts beam characteristics across field sizes, depths, and machine conditions.

A physics-based beam simulation tool that generates commissioning style beam data without a full set of physical measurements — no large tank to transport, level, or store, and far fewer setup errors. Powered by the patent-pending SIMAC Beam Model.

Partial measurements in, complete beam data out

  • Eliminate the physical tank — no transporting, no levelling, no heavy setup, nothing to store
  • Fast commissioning — full characterization from a small set of scans
  • Fewer setup errors; annual QA done anytime, faster
  • Validate the machine after a service event

Three water tanks

The scanning and calibration tanks are part of SIMAC Machine — both versions, at no extra cost. The commissioning tank is a separate purchase.

Scanning water tank
Included with SIMAC Machine

Generate dose plots from any machine configuration and compare them on one plot. For exploration, teaching, and understanding how settings move the beam.

Calibration water tank
Included with SIMAC Machine

Run TG-51 / TRS-398 to get output and update your machine gain, exactly as you would at the machine.

What's included

  • Beam scan setup module
  • Beam scan review module
  • Beam scan analysis reports
  • Scanning and calibration tanks bundled with SIMAC Machine
  • Commissioning tank sold separately

What it does — and doesn't do today

The virtual water tank is advancing quickly. Several capabilities — particularly the hardest small-field and out-of-field regions — are still in development, and we'd rather you plan around that.

What it does
  • Generates beam data from partial measurements
  • Simulates water-tank scans virtually, anytime
  • The commissioning tank supports commissioning & TPS beam modeling
  • Reduces measurement burden, cost, and setup error
Not yet available
  • Small fields below 4 cm; accurate out-of-field dose and penumbra vs field size
  • Accurate PDD build-up region; PDD-to-TMR conversion
  • Broad detector-size/volume support (only a few detectors modelled)
  • Automated multi-depth scan queues; electron beams
How it's sold

SIMAC Machine is the base product.

Start with SIMAC Machine — the virtual linac matched to your accelerator. Add the Commissioning Water Tank, Quality Assurance, or Dose Calculation individually, or take all of them together as SIMAC Digital Twin.

SIMAC Digital Twin
Or take everything at once. SIMAC Digital Twin bundles the base product and every add-on above.

Where this fits

Two product families, one platform.

SIMAC Training products teach the machine — every one of them includes SIMAC Learning and the SIMAC Machine Education Edition. SIMAC Digital Twin products model your machine — sold per machine, per beam model, and all built on SIMAC Machine as the base.

This product includes

The Scanning and Calibration tanks are always included with SIMAC Machine.
The Commissioning water tank is sold as an add on to SIMAC Machine.

It does not replace

Your physical tank when you only have the scanning and calibration tanks. The commissioning tank does and is purchased per clinic.
