Physics Teaching Packages

A purpose-built medical physics learning environment — combining theory, simulation, assessment, and virtual LINAC access to develop more confident, clinically prepared, board-ready physicists.

SIMAC Physics Package is an internally-managed, web-based platform that teaches medical linac concepts without a physical machine. Every student gets personal access to SIMAC Learning for self-study, and the graduate and residency packages further include the education edition of SIMAC Machine and SIMAC Water Tank. Packages are available for undergraduate, graduate, and residency programs.

Every package includes SIMAC Learning. The graduate and residency packages add SIMAC Machine; the undergraduate package is a reduced set — 8 labs only, without the textbooks or SIMAC Machine.

A teaching platform built on the standard, non-configurable editions of SIMAC Machine and SIMAC Water Tank — excellent for education, not intended for clinical commissioning or service.

Hands-on, without the machine

Every package includes the SIMAC Machine Education Edition — a full linac simulator in the browser. Students do the labs on the simulator, so a program can teach machine work without competing for time on a clinical linac.

Less time on a real linac

Clinical machines are booked and revenue-bearing. Learners arrive already knowing the screens, the sequence and what a healthy machine looks like, so bay time confirms skill instead of building it.

Nothing to break, no one at risk

Mis-set a parameter, drive the machine into a fault, work back through the interlocks. On a simulator that is a lesson rather than an incident report — reset and go again.

Repeat until it is routine

Every lab can be run as many times as it takes, at any hour, without booking anything or waiting for a service window.

This product includes

SIMAC Learning, a student management portal, feedback and grading — plus full SIMAC Machine access at the Graduate and Residency levels (Undergraduate is SIMAC Learning only). Instructors and residents get a year of access; graduate students get four months.

It does not replace

Clinical machine time. Teaching stops competing with treatment for the vault. A whole class gets hands on a linac — Varian and Elekta — and the hours you do spend on the real machine go to model-specific setup instead of fundamentals.
