The point of it

Match the beam model to the machine you have today.

Your commissioning beam model describes the linac as it was on the day it was commissioned. Every month since, the machine has drifted a little further from it. SIMAC Quality Assurance matches the beam model to what your machine is actually outputting now, using the QA data you already collect — so the model you reason with is current instead of historical.

Paired with SIMAC Dose Calculation, that current model lets you see the combined effect of several drifts on your patient's dose — the accumulation that no single TG-142 test flags, because each parameter is still inside tolerance on its own.

What it does — and doesn't do today

SIMAC Quality Assurance is an add-on to SIMAC Machine. It works in machine and beam-data space — parameters, scans and trends. To see dose distribution effects you need SIMAC Dose Calculation, which is a separate product.
